Jazz in the South took place on 2 and 3 May 2009, with a major concert at the Rudy John Beach Park in Laborie on Sunday 3 May and a highly successful workshop at the Jazz Campus (Campus B of Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School) on Saturday 2 May.

This year's main Jazz in the South concert had a very strong Jazz flavour, with headliner Bluemangó entertaining the audience with its powerful fusion of Jazz and Caribbean rhythms. Read more ...

Labowi Promotions wishes to express its deep gratitude to all those who made Jazz in the South possible, including Gold sponsors Digicel and Bank of Saint Lucia, as well as other sponsors Alliance Française, Heineken, Laborie Co-operative Credit Union, St. Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority, and Paradise Water. The show on 3 May was also supported by WIZO Ltd., Willrock Ltd., the Southern Tourism Development Corporation, the Laborie Village Council and Mr. Keith St. Aimee. The Police, the Emergency Medical Services, St. Jude Hospital, the Community Nursing Division of the Ministry of Health and the Fire and Emergency Services were all involved to ensure that the concert would take place under good and safe conditions.
